Air Movement Systems greatly reduced the HVAC run time by 50%, which results in substantial energy savings!
The temperature differential between the ceiling and floor gave an added benefit to customer and staff comfort.
No more cold feet complaints. See Graph Below:

- Each dot represents 1 minute on the line graph, and each bar at the bottom bar graph 1 minute.
- This McDonald's runs the HVAC fans continuously.
- The ambient temperature outside was 20 degrees in this time interval.
- McDonald's keeps table top temperature @ 65F where they sell the most hamburgers according to there own testing.
The monitoring device
was a Davis Weather Monitor II, measuring the ceiling temperature near the
diffuser by extension probe, and table top temperature with the base unit.

The ambient temperature outside was also 20 degrees in this time interval.
Notice the on time of
the burner is reduced from 8 minutes in the previous graph without Air Movement Systems,
to 4 minutes on time with Air Movement Systems operating.
Notice the off time
of burner is increased from 4 minutes in the previous graph without
Air Movement Systems, to 6 minutes of off time with Air Movement Systems operating.
This reduction in on
time, and extension of off time equates to a 43% savings.
Due to McDonalds 65
degree target, they can set back the thermostats an additional 6 degrees.
According to Dr. Byron Jones Ph.D. of AHSRAE this would be an additional 21%
improvement.

Energy Savings Analysis by Dr. Byron Jones, Ph.D., P.E., ASHRAE. Kansas State
University, 1980 1981, Revised 1984

Stratified air is a
natural condition normally found in residential, commercial and industrial
areas. During any season, heat rises up and through the ceiling while cold air
remains on the floor. Therefore, there is usually a significant difference
between the temperature at your ceiling and the temperature at your floor. You
can measure this temperature differential by using common thermometers.
Proper installation
and use of Air Destratifier generally reduces the temperature differential by
75% in most residential, commercial and industrial applications. As you can see
from the chart below, the energy cost savings can be very substantial.
